The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Economics seeks applicants for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Economics, starting in August 2024. This successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in microeconomics on a regular basis. Additional teaching responsibilities, depending on expertise, may include statistics, principles of macroeconomics, and quantitative courses that contribute to the business analytics curriculum.

Required qualifications include a PhD in Economics from a nationally or internationally recognized doctoral program (or expected degree completion by August 1, 2024); proven record of excellence in teaching; background in applied microeconomics; demonstrated ability to produce publishable research in economics journals; and demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preference will be given to candidates with previous stand-alone teaching experience; a demonstrated ability to contribute to the business analytics curriculum; proficiency in analytics software such as R, SAS, Tableau, and/or Python; evidence of ability to create an engaged and applied classroom environment; and evidence of ability to advance the academic, professional, and personal success of students.
