Department of Economics at the University of Tokyo invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in macroeconomics, beginning no later than September 2024. The position is for 7 years with an initial 3-year appointment followed by a 4-year term subject to a successful midterm review. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in economics by September 2024. The successful candidate will conduct research and teach at the Department of Economics. All graduate and some undergraduate teachings are held in English.

Applicants should submit a CV, three letters of recommendation, the job market paper, and other samples of research through the JOE system. We will start reviewing applications on December 28, 2023. Interviews will be held online shortly before the 2024 ASSA meeting in January.
