The College of Business Administration at Winthrop University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics position to begin in August 2024. A successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and masters-level courses in principles of economics, statistics, econometrics, and/or data analytics per departmental needs and candidate interest. Winthrop University, located in the Charlotte, North Carolina metropolitan region, is a liberal arts, masters-granting state university. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, a strong commitment to student learning and development, and the ability to establish an independent research program that leads to high-quality publications in peer-reviewed journals. The standard teaching load is three courses (9 credit hours) per semester. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until a suitable candidate is identified.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in economics, with preference given to those with a background and teaching interest in econometrics/quantitative methods.
Evidence of teaching excellence.
Evidence of research potential.
Ability to engage effectively with a diverse student body.
