The Department of Economics and Finance invites applications for a tenure-track position in health economics at any rank with the potential to be hired into an endowed position as the Ronald and Cynthia McNeill Distinguished Professor, Ronald and Cynthia McNeill Distinguished Scholar, or Ronald and Cynthia McNeill Distinguished Fellow, depending on the recipient’s rank. The purpose of the endowed position is to support public programs and community engagement activities of the Cameron School of Business. These activities include public policy debates at the regional, state, and national level, securing external funding as appropriate, and supporting Cameron’s contribution to the community’s intellectual development.

The recipient is selected for an initial term, beginning on August 1, 2024, of 5 years as the distinguished professor/scholar/fellow, renewable indefinitely based on an evaluation on the individuals accomplishments and future vision for the position through joint deliberation by the Dean of the Cameron School of Business, the Department Chair, and a search committee that serves as an advisory committee to the Chair.

In addition, a recipient at the rank of professor will require the approval of tenure and appointment at the rank of full professor at the time of hire. A recipient at the rank of associate professor receives an initial five year contract with the expectation of applying for tenure no later than the fourth year of the contract. A recipient at the rank of assistant professor receives and initial four year contract with the expectation of application for re-appointment or tenure in the third year of the contract. Timelines may vary depending on individual circumstances and are governed by the CSB’s RPT policy.

The selected candidate receives a one-course teaching reduction per semester and financial resources to generate recognition for the Professorship and the Cameron School. The financial resources will not exceed the funds generated from the professorship’s endowment.
