The Department of Economics, College of Social Sciences, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (Honolulu, Hawaiʻi) invites applicants for the position of Assistant Professor (I-3).
This is a 9-month, full-time, permanent, tenure track position to begin August 1, 2024, subject to position clearance and availability of funds.

UHM is an R1 (Very High Research Activity, Carnegie Classification) institution located on a beautiful arboretum campus. Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in macroeconomics and international finance;
2. Supervise and mentor MA and PhD students;
3. Publish scholarly, peer-reviewed research in areas of expertise;
4. Seek extramural funding in areas of expertise;
5. Provide service to the department, college, university, and relevant professional community.
6. Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. PhD in Economics or a related field from an accredited college or university or foreign equivalent; ABDs will be considered but all degree requirements must be completed prior to date of hire;
2. A record of research achievement;
3. Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in macroeconomics and international finance;
4. Ability to mentor and advise students in the applicant’s area of expertise;
5. Ability to work effectively and collegially with students, faculty, staff and/or
administration.
