Assistant/Associate Professor Tenure Track Faculty

Bridgewater State University, Department of Economics

The Economics Department at Bridgewater State University seeks colleagues with vision and energy to help reinvigorate the Economics program and is currently accepting applications. The new tenure-track faculty will play an important role in implementing the findings of our recent program review by strengthening our current program consisting of a BS in Economics, a minor in Economics, and a minor in Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE). An additional BA in Economics is being considered. Successful candidates will be student-oriented teacher/scholars and committed to an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and respects diversity and difference.
 
Essential Duties: Bridgewater State University has a 4-4 teaching load (most often implemented with a three-course preparation) supported by significant professional development opportunities and guidance. The successful candidate will be required to teach introductory and advanced economics courses, advise undergraduate students as well as conduct various service and research activities. Commitment to and experience with various forms of teaching (both online and in person) and supporting student wellbeing is highly desirable. Opportunities exist for participating in interdisciplinary programs as well as developing new programs, service-learning projects, study abroad courses, and research projects with university support. The Department of Economics is housed in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences but also supports undergraduate and graduate programs in the College of Business. Bridgewater State University is committed to small class sizes of 35 or less.
