Postdoctoral Scholar in Economic Inequality

Full-time, 2-year appointment, beginning fall 2024.
Salary: $87,000/year, plus funds for research, travel, and research assistants.

The Stone Center is hiring a postdoctoral scholar (CUNY contract title: research associate), who will focus on economic inequality. Priority will be given to candidates who conduct research in one or more of the following areas:
• Global inequality, currently or historically
• Economic inequality in historical perspective
• Economic inequality in China

Applicants should have:   
• Ph.D. in economics, sociology, political science, public policy, or related social science discipline
• Degree awarded prior to the position start date
• Research portfolio demonstrating interest in empirical, methodological, or theoretical scholarship on socio-economic inequality and/or social mobility
• High level of empirical and statistical skills, and experience with complex data sets
• Excellent writing and communication skills
