The Tulane University Economics Department and the Murphy Institute of Political Economy invite applications for a postdoctoral position to begin in Fall 2023. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in economics or closely related fields by Fall 2023. We are seeking an individual whose research relates to studying discrimination and disparities. This should include studying discrimination and bias through experiments, quantifying discrimination or disparities using secondary data (e.g., Census, ACS), or quantitatively assessing how public policies, laws, or events have differentially affected demographic or socio-economic groups. We are also interested in individuals whose research, teaching, or service experience or plans relates to EDI.
The postdoctoral scholar will be supervised and mentored by Professor Patrick Button. The successful candidate will teach one course at the undergraduate level in the Department of Economics annually and is expected to participate actively in research, seminars and other activities at the Department of Economics and the Murphy Institute.
