Jinhe Center for Economic Research (JCER) was founded in 1997 by two American educated economists (Yusen Kwoh, Chicago, MA, 1978; Chuntien Hu, Princeton, PhD, 1986) at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) in China. The center offers B.A, M.A., and PhD. degrees in economics with modern curriculum and teaching materials. Existing faculties consist of 21 resident faculty with Ph.D degree from US, UK, Japan, Australia, Netherland, Italy, Korea and over 30 visiting professors abroad. Our full-time enrollment is about 250 students, including foreign students.

Our undergraduate students are very competitively selected from other majors after their first year, and almost all of the graduate students are from top universities in mainland China. We believe economics is not only the fundamental knowledge for social sciences, but also the most practical subject for policy and industry. China is at the important stage of sustainable development and aspiration reform, with a large amount of best students willing to learn economics. Therefore, China is the most suitable place for the development of economics. If you have the dream for doing research in economics, just join with us. We are also looking for senior professors who can lead or help to lead the academic and strategic direction for the JCER’s expansion.
A 4500-acre new campus of XJTU was opened in 2019, which will lead to the fast expansion for both graduate and undergraduate programs of XJTU, and JCER is planning to hire more junior and senior faculty members from abroad over the next two years in an effort to bolster expanding programs. English speakers are also welcome.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
•PhD degree required.
•Teaching load of 3 courses each year, teaching can be conducted in English or Chinese.
•Research and publication.
•Advising PhD, Master and undergraduate students.

Compensation and Benefits:
•Contract for 4-6 years.
