The Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) invites applications for a position as

Postdoctoral Research Scientist

for a period of three years (with the option for renewal). The working locations are Berlin or Bonn, Germany.

The Postdoctoral Research Scientist will directly collaborate with and be a part of the research team at IZA, led by Prof. Simon Jäger, and will be directly involved in innovative research and policy projects with large-scale administrative data. The Research Scientist is also encouraged to engage in self-directed research that has the potential to be published in top journals, and to get involved in IZA network activities and shared projects of the institute. The Postdoctoral Research Scientist will also be involved in mentoring Pre-doctoral Research Associates and graduate students at IZA. Positions come without any teaching responsibilities.

Ideal candidates should work in labor economics or a closely related field, and be close to completion of their PhD. Excellent knowledge of econometrics and a strong interest in applied and policy-oriented labor issues are a plus.

The Postdoctoral Research Scientist is also encouraged to engage in self-directed research that has the potential to be published in top journals, get involved in our network activities, and in shared projects of the institute. Active participation in the thriving intellectual environment of IZA and being a team player are essential.
