UArizona's Freedom Center is hiring an Assistant or Associate Research Professor/Outreach Director to start Fall 2023. This is a year-to-year appointment contingent upon funding and performance. The position will promote opportunities for new partnerships around campus, nationally and internationally and overseeing their development and will pursue research activities as related to their expertise of study. The mission of the Freedom Center is to promote the understanding and appreciation of the ideals of freedom and responsibility along four dimensions: published research, undergraduate education, graduate education, and community outreach.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in a subject matter that fits into the Freedom Center's mission. The ideal candidate will have experience working multidisciplinary within a university setting with experience in outreach and fundraising activities. Duties include:
Leading Post Doctoral fellows to manage the Visiting Fellows Program.
Facilitating talks series: Public Discussion Forum, Voices of Culture, and FC talks.
Promoting opportunities for new partnerships around campus, nationally and internationally and overseeing their development.
MLS management including by recruiting new course developers and facilitators.
Collaborating with MLS and other programs' marketing.
Management of FC/MLS scholarships.
Promotion of relationship with state legislators.
