Banco de México, the Mexican central bank, is interested in hiring experienced or newly qualified Ph.D.'s in economics or related fields, for its headquarters in Mexico City, to work at its Research Directorate ("Dirección General de Investigación Económica").

The main tasks of the potential candidates would be to carry out high-quality, policy-oriented research, both for publication in refereed journals and for the Bank's senior management. Hirees are expected to have, or commit to acquire, a good command of written and spoken Spanish.

The Research Directorate offers an excellent working and research environment, intense external and internal seminar series, workshops, conference travel support, a multinational workforce and competitive compensation.

We will be interviewing selected candidates during December 2022 (virtual) and January 2023(virtual and/or presential). Graduating Ph.D. applicants should submit a C.V., a research paper, three letters of reference and a cover letter explaining their interest in working for Banco de México in its Mexico City headquarters, by using the econjobmarket.org website. Experienced candidates can provide a list of references in place of reference letters.
