Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (several posts) in Economics in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 516867), to commence on July 1, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment will be made on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at Professor/Associate Professor level may be considered for appointment on tenure terms.

Applicants should possess or be close to completing a Ph.D. degree with outstanding research promise. All fields of economics will be considered. The appointees should be able to teach undergraduate and/or graduate degree programmes, and are expected to commit to high-quality scholarly research and services. Applicants for appointment as Professor should have a proven record of high-quality scholarship and teaching, and should be able to conduct an ongoing active research agenda, to attract competitive grants, and to provide leadership and services within both the Faculty and the University. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
