The Department of Economics at Rutgers University-Newark invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the field of macroeconomics. Of special interest are candidates with demonstrated expertise in using and/or teaching data science methods, but the search committee is eager to evaluate all qualified candidates. The candidate hired will be expected to establish and maintain significant scholarly research and support a commitment to excellence in teaching to a diverse student body at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Salary and teaching/service expectations are competitive.

The Rutgers University-Newark campus is 9 miles from New York City. Faculty are able to participate in a wide variety of scholarly activities both on campus and throughout the metro area. In addition to the School of Arts and Sciences, the Newark campus houses the Rutgers Business School, the Rutgers Law School, and several programs related to economics and economic policy, including the Division of Global Affairs, the Global Urban Systems Ph.D. program, and the School of Public Administration and Affairs (SPAA).

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Economics, Business or Finance is required by August 2023.
