Associate or Full Professor with Tenure, Appointments at the rank of Associate Professor with tenure presume evidence of excellence in scholarship that establishes the individual as a significant contributor to the field or profession, with potential for national distinction. Appointments at the rank of Professor presume national distinction in scholarship, as evident in the candidate's wide recognition and outstanding contributions to the field or profession. The rank of the appointment will be determined based on the applicant’s prior scholarly impact, leadership experiences, and national and international reputation as determined by the faculty.

Location: Department of Agricultural Economics, College of Agriculture, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA

Principal Duties:
The successful candidate is expected to develop a nationally recognized engagement, research, and teaching program. The department has a high-profile reputation for working with the agribusiness industry to address challenges and opportunities that help move the industry forward. The successful candidate will be expected to enhance the department's reputation by actively engaging with food and agribusiness industry leaders. The department’s Center for Food and Agricultural Business (CAB) is a key facilitator of the department's industry engagement. The department strongly encourages the successful candidate to both engage in and lead CAB programs.

The department encourages the successful candidate to pursue high quality scholarly research in the areas of managerial decision-making, agribusiness strategy, supply chain management, entrepreneurship and/or related areas such as decision sciences, data analytics, innovation, technology adoption, etc. The candidate is expected to publish in high-impact peer reviewed journals, mentor graduate students, and secure external funding.

The department has a reputation for teaching excellence across the university and the successful hire is expected to contribute toward this reputation. The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses that will provide students with the economic tools and analytic approaches necessary to become effective managerial decision makers. Potential exists for teaching distance courses. The specific courses and course load will depend on the candidate and department needs.

Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in agricultural economics, managerial economics, business management, economics, marketing, or another closely related field. This is an academic year appointment.
