The Economics Department invites applications for the Crowe Chair in Economics beginning either January or July, 2023. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. This is a visiting position available for up to two years (with the possibility of a third year). Length of appointment is determined by mutual agreement between the Naval Academy and the successful applicant. Candidates with a PhD in Economics are preferred, although exceptional candidates with experience and a Master’s degree in related fields will be considered. Candidates should have a publication record in industrial organization and/or defense economics or national security. A commitment to undergraduate teaching and to appropriate research on defense issues is expected. Candidates must be willing to teach a course focused on the economics of national defense. The teaching load would be no more than two sections per semester. Sections are 10-20 students.
