The Innovation and CoE team at Sam's Club/ Walmart Global Tech is looking for a leading economist to
support new program/product innovation, cross-functional strategic decision making, and provide methodology consultation and development for the data science team at Sam’s Club.

The work will be 70% individual projects and 30% on elevating the team productivity and state-of-art model: Lead portfolios of data science projects; serve as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, causal and predictive modeling, and economics related topics; assess feasibility of applying scientific concepts to business problems; mentor junior data scientists and drive technical development and innovation.

Minimum qualification….

PhD in statistics, economics, analytics, mathematics, quantitative marketing, or related field
5+ years’ experience in analytic modeling, with minimum 3 years in working with large data sets;
Expertise in at least one of the following fields: causal inference, econometrics, machine learning;
Successful completion of assessments in Python/R;

Preferred qualification….

Successful completion of assessments in SQL
Experience in field experiments, quasi-experiment analysis, causal inference, business and policy analysis;
Experience in modeling and solving ambiguous business problems under tight timelines;
Savvy to navigate through a large and complex corporate environment.
