Post-doctoral Lecturer
Department of Economics
New York University Arts and Science

The Department of Economics invites applications for a post-doctoral lecturer position for academic year 2022-23. We are seeking to hire a recent doctoral graduate in Economics with a strong record of research and teaching, relevant professional experience, familiarity with the Economics curriculum and student body, and a commitment to questions of equity and diversity. The post-doctoral lecturer will be responsible for teaching undergraduate lectures and recitations in micro and macroeconomics.

The position will begin on September 1, 2022, pending administrative and budgetary approval. The initial appointment is for one year and may be renewed for one additional year.

Applications should include (1) a statement detailing the candidate’s qualifications and explaining how diversity has figured in their academic activities; and (2) a one-page description of an introductory undergraduate course in micro or macroeconomics the applicant might teach, including key texts to be assigned; and (3) a curriculum vitae.

Applications should be uploaded on Interfolio (http://apply.interfolio.com/103658).

Candidates must have defended their dissertation between 2019 and 2022.

If the selected candidate will graduate in Summer 2022, the Economics Department must receive by July 31 a signed Doctoral Thesis Reader Sheet from the primary adviser approving the dissertation for defense. The dissertation must be successfully defended and deposited to the Graduate School on or before September 10, 2022 in time for the graduation deadlines. Failure to meet any of these deadlines will result in a failure to meet criteria for employment in a post-doctoral capacity in the Economics Department.

Decisions will be made by a committee of faculty from the Economics Department.
