The Department of Economics at the University of Tennessee seeks to fill a non-tenure-track Lecturer position with appointment to begin August 1, 2022. We seek candidates who are dedicated to a career of exceptional teaching of economics. This position provides a path to promotion to Senior Lecturer and ultimately Distinguished Lecturer, which entail salary increases and extended appointments. Lecturers teach a portfolio of courses typically including multiple large sections (typically 200-300 students) of principles of micro and/or macro and smaller classes in fields of expertise. Responsibilities include service roles and a commitment to fostering the goals of the department, college, and university. Candidates must have a PhD in economics or equivalent at the time of appointment.
The Department of Economics is one of seven departments within the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee. The department faculty have expertise in a wide range of fields and place a high value on diversity and collegiality. The department has a vibrant Ph.D. program, and strong ties to the Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research and the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy.
