Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in the Executive Office of the President, is a fast-paced organization that contributes to virtually every major policy, regulatory, and management initiative in the Federal government. OMB's Economic Policy Division includes a small team of economists that impacts public policy by making recommendations to OMB and White House leadership in a wide range of areas. Our economists work in interdisciplinary teams to model and analyze the impact of Federal government policies over the short, medium and long term, and develop the economic forecast used for the President's Budget. We contribute to analyses and policy discussions within OMB and across the components of the Executive Office of the President and the US Government including with the Council of Economic Advisors, the National Economic Council, the Domestic Policy Council, and the Treasury Department.
Expertise or interest in applied microeconomics, financial economics and/or environmental economics is desirable. Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as technical expertise, and an enthusiasm for applying economic tools from a wide range of fields to many different policy areas.
