Syracuse University’s Department of Economics seeks to fill a tenure-track position in labor economics, with an emphasis on one or more of the following contemporary economic policy issues: the economics of crime, immigration, or race. The position is at the Assistant Professor level and will build on the Maxwell School and department’s longstanding strength and commitment to labor and policy-related applied microeconomics. The position is in Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities of the position include producing quality scholarly research, publishing in leading academic journals, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in labor economics, and advising doctoral students.

Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs:
The Department of Economics is located in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, which includes departments and programs in the social sciences, public policy, public administration, and international relations. In addition, the School also is the home of several interdisciplinary centers, and many members of the economics faculty are affiliated with the Center for Policy Research, the Aging Studies Institute, or the Moynihan Institute of Global Affairs. The Department of Economics also is part of the University’s College of Arts and Sciences.
