Job Description

The Economics Department of the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a tenure-system appointment at the level of Assistant Professor in Economics of Race and Ethnicity or Stratification Economics, expected to start on September 1st, 2022. Under exceptional circumstances, candidates at other ranks may receive consideration. The primary research area would focus on racial inequalities and/or social hierarchies based on group identity. Complementary fields are open and could include labor, education, health, gender, political economy, macroeconomics, environment/energy/climate, or other relevant fields.

Minimum Requirements

A Ph.D. in Economics or a related field by the start date of the appointment.
