The Partnership on AI (PAI) is seeking an analytical thinker to develop a methodology for evaluating designing corporate targets and commitments around Responsible AI. In the first year, this role will focus on developing a methodology for evaluating the impact of organizations developing and deploying AI on labor demand, and use it to design corporate commitments around supporting broadly shared prosperity. The Research Analyst will analyze how to guide AI advancement to improve the economic prospects of disadvantaged workers, in particular those with few opportunities for educational advancement. With a careful examination of the relationship between AI advancement and the distribution of economic opportunity, the Initiative draws on a range of critical perspectives: that of workers, of a multi-disciplinary body of thinkers from academia, the AI industry and civil society, and the broader public.
The Research Analyst will work closely with the AI and Shared Prosperity Initiative’s Steering Committee and Research Group to establish answers for the Initiative’s foundational questions (see partnershiponai.org/shared-prosperity).
This is a full-time position which can be scoped as a year-long fellowship to complete the first project in support of the AI and Shared Prosperity Initiative (e.g. for candidates interested in taking a leave from academia).
