Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Wisconsin National Data Consortium (WiNDC) is a research project that has been formed to provide the analytic community with data sets and companion models which facilitate evidence-based economic research on the national and sub-national level. We are looking for a Research Associate (Postdoc) who will assist with the research conducted at WiNDC at the University Wisconsin-Madison. The main responsibility is the further development of the WiNDC data and core models to address current economic policy questions and assisting with publications. The Research Associate (Postdoc) will have the opportunity to attend workshops at the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics and pursue their own research interest in addition to their job duties.

Candidates should have a PhD in economics, engineering or other field with an interest in economic policy analysis. The ideal candidate is a creative, productive and self-motivated individual with the ability to think critically, learn quickly, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with GAMS and Python is essential.

The initial appointment is anticipated to be 100% for 12 months. This position may be extended depending on program needs and funding availability. The starting date is as soon as possible.
