The Mid-America Regional Council, the Kansas City area’s nonprofit association of city and county governments and metropolitan planning organization, is seeking a qualified professional to serve in the Research Services department as its Lead Regional Economist.

This a high-visibility, full-time position whose primary responsibility is to lead MARC’s research on a wide variety of complicated regional issues, such as inclusive prosperity, housing, climate change, workforce demand and supply, economic and community development, poverty and race.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate energy and expertise using data to deepen understanding of complex community issues and turn that data into understandable insights that drive more effective policy and action. They will show a passion for learning, solving problems and public service, as well as an ability to work well with others in a spirit of collaboration.
