Los Angeles based Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is seeking an experienced professional with exceptional analytical and communication skills for the position of Senior Economist to join the Modeling and Forecasting Department. The Senior Economist will keep abreast of the latest developments in housing and economic policy, economics research, and produce long term socioeconomic growth forecasts. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the region by participating in division-wide cross-functional initiatives, undertaking complex analytical and research assignments, and collaborating with our Policy and Public Affairs Division in organizing SCAG’s Annual Economic Summit. The Senior Economist will be responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of a work plan for economic recovery and growth in Southern California, with an initial focus on the COVID-19 Pandemic impact on the regional economy, local government finance, and economic inclusion.
