Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Economics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a position in development and health economics at the Assistant Professor tenure-track level (JPF00938). The department has a preference for a candidate who does research at the intersection of development and health in a developing country setting; however, candidates in the health field at large are welcome to apply, especially those who focus on inequality and health disparities. Teaching areas might include introductory, intermediate and graduate classes in development economics and health economics, and other classes. The candidate is expected to participate actively in the campus initiative in global and community health.
Our department has a Ph.D., a professional Master’s, and several undergraduate programs. Applicants are expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; advise/mentor graduate and undergraduate students; contribute to graduate education, the research environment of the department, and to university and professional service; and work with students, faculty and staff from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds.
Applications completed through the campus’s online system on/by November 23, 2020 are ensured full consideration.
