The Economic Research Unit at the Central Bank of Chile, part of the Division of Monetary Policy, is seeking to fill two positions of Senior Economists/ Senior Economic Researchers. Preferred areas of expertise include macroeconomics, monetary policy and climate change economics.

The Economic Research Unit conducts high-quality academic research with applications to monetary policy and economic policy issues. It employs PhD economists and Master-level research assistants. Economists are expected to independently conduct and publish high-quality academic and policy-relevant research in international peer-reviewed journals and to contribute to policy reports, briefing the Board in topics of his/her expertise, and to collaborate in the organization of seminars, workshops and conferences.

Candidates must hold a PhD in Economics, Finance or similar by July 2021. More experienced candidates are welcome to apply.
The position will be full time and open ended. Salary and benefit packages are internationally competitive and determined in accordance to the level of experience of the candidate.

The Economic Research Unit offers an outstanding research environment, funding for traveling and a large flow of visitors ensure strong international exposure. The Bank currently employs more than 40 PhD graduates in its different departments.
