The Department of Economics seeks one or more full-time academic staff lecturers in Economics starting August 19, 2020, for 1-year fixed-term contracts with expected reappointment for satisfactory performance. Full-time teaching responsibilities include introductory courses in economics, statistics, global perspectives, and possibly upper-level undergraduate courses in areas of expertise. The teaching load is 4 courses per semester. Instructors at UW-W may be required to teach online and/or in a hybrid format, or courses in the evenings. Instructors may also elect to participate in other programs geared toward improving student success. Lecturers are expected to maintain professional currency consistent with AACSB accreditation. The candidate will also be expected to embrace the principles of diversity and inclusion as a member of the university community. A Master’s Degree with professional experience, or ABD status in Economics, is required for consideration. ABD candidates are expected to obtain the Ph.D. to continue in the position. Candidates must show a record of or potential for effective teaching. Candidates with a record of superior teaching performance in introductory courses preferred.

The Economics Department offers three degree programs: a bachelor's of business administration (BBA), a bachelor of arts or science (BA/BS) from the College of Letters and Sciences and a bachelor of science in education (BSE) from the College of Education. The curriculum emphasizes applied analysis and empirical methods.
