The Department of Economics at Georgetown University has an opening for a Teaching Professor at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in the field of Microeconomics. The appointment will be for one year starting August 1, 2020. The successful candidate will be accepting a full-time non-tenure teaching position with market salary. This one-year position may be eligible for renewal.


The primary responsibility will be to teach five courses in the undergraduate program, with the possibility of additional (optional) summer teaching. Teaching duties will include up to three large sections of Microeconomics Principles. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to bring innovative approaches to the teaching of Microeconomics Principles.


Candidates should have extensive experience and demonstrated success in teaching microeconomics at the undergraduate level. Specific requirements include a Ph.D. degree in Economics and several years of university teaching experience.


Candidates should send a curriculum vitae, documentation of success (such as course evaluation results) in teaching relevant courses, and three letters of recommendation.
