The Department of Economics and the Elliott School of International Affairs invite applications for a three-year renewable appointment as an Assistant or Associate Professor of economics and international affairs as early as the Fall 2020 semester. Possible courses taught could include: international trade, international macroeconomics, development economics, or quantitative methods.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment and expertise in international trade, international macroeconomics or economic development. Candidates must provide evidence of outstanding teaching through consistently high student evaluations at the college level. The evaluations must be for courses for which the candidate was the primary instructor.

Application procedure: Applicants should submit: (1) a letter describing interest in the position; (2) a current curriculum vitae; (3) syllabi of at least two courses developed by the candidate, preferably recent; and (4) at least two sets of teaching evaluations, preferably recent. Applicants should arrange for three letters of recommendation that address teaching strengths. All letters should be sent to esiafac@gwu.edu.
