Full Text of JOE Listing:

The University of Stavanger Business School seeks an assistant or associate professor of economics with competence and experience in conducting randomized controlled trials (RCTs).

The position is part of the university’s strategic commitment to build a strong multi-disciplinary research group conducting RCTs in close collaboration with practitioners. You will be a key member of this group, which aims to contribute with research relevant to national and regional public policy, while at the same time publishable in highly-ranked international journals. It builds on our recent successes with large scale RCTs (Synapse Lab) and involves the Faculty of Social Science, Faculty of Arts and Education, Faculty of Health Sciences and UiS Business School, where the position is organizationally affiliated with the Department of Economics and Finance.

You will conduct research in your field using RCT methodology and teach a PhD-level course on RCT for scholars in the social sciences. You will also advise and mentor research groups at the University seeking to conduct RCTs in the social sciences. Hence, you must have extensive knowledge in, and experience with, all stages of an RCT. The expected teaching, advising and service load is lower than fifty percent, with the remaining time for research.
