For the study of the economics of capital shares, namely, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), profit sharing, broad-based equity compensation, and various other forms of employee share ownership.

The Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing at the Rutgers University School of Management and Labor Relations invites applications from economists who are doctoral candidates, post-docs, and pre/post tenure scholars for the 2020-2021 Research Fellowships, the J. Robert Beyster Fellowship and the Louis O. Kelso Fellowships and the new Lon and Lauren McGowan Fellowship in Profit Sharing. Applicants are encouraged to study the relationship between these topics and economic inequality, the economic performance of firms, and important questions in economics.

The Institute seeks scholars with a long-term interest in these research streams who are based in the United States and study the United States and wish to work with a community of researchers in the Institute going forward. Stipends can be used for research, travel, or living expenses and are awarded for residence at the scholar’s home university.
