Founded in 1919, AUC moved to a new 270-acre state-of-the-art campus in New Cairo in 2008. The University also operates in its historic downtown facilities, offering cultural events, graduate classes, and continuing education. Student housing is available in New Cairo. Job Description:

The Department of Economics has openings for faculty positions at the level of Assistant/Associate/Professor for a fixed term one-year appointment, to begin in Fall 2020. The Department of Economics seeks a candidate with an exceptional teaching record and whose research complements our existing strengths while transcending traditional mainstream output in the areas of Macroeconomics, International Trade, Public Finance, Monetary Economics, Financial Economics, Econometrics, Project Evaluation, Economic History, or International Development.

The candidate is expected to build a diverse research team in collaboration with local and international participants addressing the manner in which the above sub-disciplines specifically relate to the Middle East and African regions. Strong practical quantitative and research methodology skills will also be highly valued.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, actively engage in research and service, and supervise masters' theses. Finally, all faculty must be willing to teach introductory courses.

Requirements:

Applicants must have a PhD in economics or closely related field from a reputable university, preferably with a record of an active research agenda, teaching experience, thesis supervision, and academic service.
