The Treasury Department's Office of Microeconomic Analysis has an opening in 2020 for a well-qualified economist (new graduate). The office provides analysis to senior Treasury and Administration officials on a wide range of financial and economic issues, including fiscal policy, entitlement reform, pensions, labor, health, education, housing, insurance, regulation, technological change, infrastructure, energy, the environment, and financial market issues. Economists on staff work closely with top policy-makers throughout the federal government while also pursuing their own research as time permits.

The work requires skills usually associated with a Ph.D. in economics or similar degree. In addition, successful candidates must have the ability to present their views clearly and concisely and to prepare analysis, both oral and written, in tight time frames.
