IMPAQ International, a rapidly growing and dynamic social policy research firm is seeking full-time Research Associate/Economist to conduct policy-related research and evaluation in the areas of International Development. Some examples of our work include:

•Researching the national landscape of apprenticeships and helping expand effective programs.
•Monitoring and evaluating (M&E) international programs that combat child labor, improve children’s literacy, strengthen democracy, increase access to water and sanitation, and build M&E capacity.
•Providing technical assistance to foreign governments to implement labor law reforms and improve labor market efficiency and performance.

Responsibilities

•Supervising primary data collection;
•Analyzing survey data and large secondary data sets;
•Performing policy analysis;
•Developing case studies;
•Writing technical reports;
•Supporting business development by participating in capture activities and writing proposals;
•Making presentations to the government clients; and
•Supervising and mentoring junior research staff.

Qualifications

•Ph.D. (or other advanced degree) in economics, public policy, or a related social science field;
•Experience conducting mixed-methods evaluation;
•Experience and knowledge of experimental and quasi-experimental methods;
•Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical material orally and in writing to non-academic audiences;
•Minimum of two years’ work experience in the field of international development;
•Expertise in applied microeconomics and/or quantitative methods;
•Proficiency in French or Spanish is required; and
•Previous field experience is highly desirable.
