The Economics Department at the University of São Paulo invites applications from strong candidates in all fields within economics for a Postdoctoral Fellowship. We are one of the leading Economics Departments in Latin America and one of the three best in research productivity amongst all Economic Departments in Brazil. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their PhDs recently or are near completion. We are opening up to two positions.

Postdoctoral Fellows are initially appointed for a fixed-term from one to two years and are eligible to become assistant professors, pending on the availability of vacancies. At the end of the first year, fellows are evaluated by an internal committee, which will renew the fellowship after assessing the participant’s performance. At this time, Fellows are expected to present proof of submission of at least one paper to a reputable international journal.

During the appointment, fellows are expected to teach at most two graduate courses during an academic year. Remuneration, paid monthly, amounts to 132,000 Reais (after tax) per year plus health insurance coverage.
