The Sargent Institute of Quantitative Economics and Finance (SIQEF) at Peking University HSBC business school invites applications from qualified individuals for Multiple full-time tenure-track faculty positions in Any field of Economics. Candidates with strong quantitative skills are especially welcome and applicants should be committed to research and teaching of the highest quality. The Institute offers generous research support as well as a new distinguished visiting scholars program. Visiting scholars are world-renowned experts and editors of top tier journals.

SIQEF was formally founded on June 8, 2017. Led by the 2011 Nobel Laureate in Economics, Thomas Sargent, the institute's goal is to become one of the most influential academic centers to study quantitative economics and finance. Towards that goal, the institute holds multiple conferences per year, and started its PhD program in 2018 with cohorts of about a dozen PhD students per year.

Located in the thriving entrepreneurial metropolis of Shenzhen also known as the “Silicon Valley of China,” Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) is a leading business school in China. English is the working language for teaching and administration, and as such, PHBS is one of the most international schools in Asia. Nearly all faculty received doctorates from abroad and over 30% of faculty are international.

PHBS also has a UK campus located in Oxfordshire, around 45 miles west of London. The PHBS UK Campus is the first ever satellite campus of any Chinese university located outside China and faculty have the opportunity to teach or do research at the UK campus.

Salary is very competitive and is in accordance with applicants’ qualifications and experiences. In addition, the Shenzhen government has various large monetary subsidies which many incoming professors may qualify for.
