The Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University invites applicants for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Business Technology to begin in Fall 2020. Candidates must have interest and capacity to conduct high quality research and potential to publish in top-tier business journals. Some examples of research areas of interest include theoretical or structural empirical research related but not limited to economics of algorithms/artificial intelligence, economics of information technology, econometric-machine learning theory for causal inference/interpretation, or interface with technology issues in quantitative Marketing/Fintech. Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree at the time of appointment in Information Systems, Economics, Marketing, Operations Research or related fields. Applicants with strong record in both business research and teaching who have completed PhD in the last 5 years will also be considered for the position. Candidates must also have potential to teach at a high level of competency, as documented by teaching evaluations or letters of recommendation.
The ideal candidate will play a leading role in advancing the school's analytical approach to business, which is a long-standing differentiator of the Tepper School’s approach to business education and research.
