The National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), founded in 1997 as a stand-alone national graduate university focused on policy studies, aims to cultivate public policy leaders and professionals who will play key roles in democratic governance. We are international in our faculty, our student body and our outlook. We are seeking candidates for one position to start in April or October 2020 (exact timing is negotiable). The area of specialization is open, but we are particularly interested in scholars with expertise in public finance.

We are interested in scholars who are conducting research in economics and can teach graduate students in public policy, most of whom are mid-career public administrators from a variety of countries. We will consider highly-qualified candidates who show record or promise of scholarly productivity and publications in high-quality academic journals. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Economics or one firmly expected prior to appointment.

Appointees will be required to teach 6 units (3 half courses, each offered for 15 weeks) per year in English and supervise masters and Ph.D. students. An appointee is also expected to conduct high level research, contribute administratively, and compete for external funds.
