Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Digital Markets Initiative (DMI) is a new, faculty-driven program in the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business Administration. Its mission is to examine the business and regulatory implications of the growing presence of digital markets through rigorous and relevant research, public engagement, and student mentorship. This associate position enables an outstanding early-career economist to visit the University of Florida's campus for up to two years of intensive research on economic aspects of digitization of business.

Essential Functions:
The associate will be a key member of the DMI faculty. The associate will work under the supervision of DMI Director, Mark Jamison. It is expected that the associate will conduct independent research, collaborate with other faculty in research projects, and be an active participant in other aspects of DMI's work, including planning seminars, conferences, and workshops. While the position is housed in the Warrington College of Business Administration, the DMI faculty is interdisciplinary, including faculty from Departments of Economics, Finance, Information Systems and Operations Management, Accounting, and Telecommunications, as well as the Levin College of Law. The associate is encouraged to pursue interdisciplinary collaborations and build her or his research portfolio. The associate is expected to publish research in top-tier academic journals.

Applications from researchers who are just completing their PhDs, as well as from junior faculty members who may be able to combine this associate position with an early career leave, are welcome. The position consists of a $72,000 stipend for academic year 2019-2020 and a travel stipend.

Associates must have completed their PhD by June 2019. The University of Florida strongly encourages applications from women, minorities, people with disabilities, and veterans. The University of Florida may be able to sponsor the associate recipient for a J-1 visa under its research scholars program.
