The Hobby School of Public Affairs at the University of Houston (UH) invites applications for a 12-month postdoctoral fellowship in social science research to begin approximately in the Fall 2019. The Hobby School emphasizes advanced social science methodology and political philosophy in its teaching, training, and research. The fellowship is open with respect to substantive area of research and teaching. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. by the start date in a social science field –such as political science, economics, public policy, psychology, and sociology– or data analytics, including decision, management, and computer science. The successful candidate is likely to demonstrate expertise in quantitative methods, potential for publishing research, a collaborative/respectful approach to work, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects to achieve performance objectives. Individuals with cross-cutting disciplinary and methodological interests are particularly encouraged to apply.
