The Weill Cornell Medicine Department of Healthcare Policy & Research is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate with an interest in conducting policy research aimed at improving outcomes for people with mental health and/or substance use conditions.

The Postdoctoral Associate will participate in research projects funded by the Arnold Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and NIDA with a focus on analysis of healthcare claims data. The Postdoctoral Associate will work under the direct supervision of Dr. Yuhua Bao, a leading expert on state policies addressing opioid prescribing and payment innovations for integrated behavioral health and medical care. The Postdoctoral Associate will collaborate with multiple investigators, an inter-disciplinary research team, and to develop independent areas of research within these projects. The Postdoctoral Associate will also participate in the Center for Health Economics of Treatment Interventions for Substance Use Disorder, HCV, and HIV (CHERISH), a multi-institutional Center of Excellence funded by NIDA. The successful applicant will have:

• A background in economics, health services research, health policy, or closely related field;
• Extensive experience with healthcare administrative and/or claims data management and analysis;
• Good understanding of financing and delivery of healthcare in U.S.; and
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, including strong writing skills.
