The International Water Management Institute invites applications from dynamic and highly motivated individuals for the position of Researcher-Economist: Impact Evaluation & Impact Assessment.

The successful applicant will be responsible for contributing to the design and execution of rigorous evaluations of technologies, interventions and policy reforms, such as those developed and introduced by IWMI and others. We are looking for a skilled economist, with specialized training in, and experience with, randomized control trials, natural experiments and quasi-experimental impact evaluation methods, having used one or more of these methods while conducting previously published research.

Candidates should hold a PhD in Economics (especially Development Economics or Environmental Economics), Agricultural Economics or Public Policy with a specialization in impact evaluation of development projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of post-PhD experience in the agriculture, water or sanitation sector; and will have peer-reviewed publications that demonstrate relevant research ability. Candidates who are adept in the implementation and management of large-scale surveys, including design, testing, micro-econometric data analysis, and interpretation for policy purposes, are especially encouraged to apply.
