The Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress seeks multiple staff for openings on the Social Capital Project. The Project, a “think tank within a committee,” seeks candidates with serious interest in social science and public policy research, particularly related to evidence-based approaches to expanding opportunity by strengthening families, communities, and attachment to work. Successful candidates will be able to: write well (and for a public audience), dispassionately weigh empirical evidence, think creatively about policy, work independently, and take initiative. This work is a unique chance to develop an ambitious agenda aimed at enabling more Americans to thrive in the 21st century. We are seeking to build a team of people with complementary backgrounds and skill sets, and we therefore encourage applications from a broad range of experience levels, including but not limited to those with a PhD or equivalent level of policy knowledge/experience to those with a BA interested in supporting research and policy analysis. Salary commensurate with experience.
