Two Open Rank Positions in Marketing
Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management
SC Johnson College of Business Cornell University
Position: Two open rank positions in Marketing; one with emphasis on nutrition or food policy and the other in general marketing.
Anticipated Start Date: July 2019 or later.
Responsibilities: In both cases, the successful candidate is expected to establish a distinguished program of research and teaching in marketing. In the first position we are particularly interested in candidates whose research and professional interests address issues relevant to nutrition or food policy generally. The second position is in general marketing with focus on either quantitative or behavioral approaches to research and teaching. Candidates for both positions are expected to conduct research embracing the Dyson School's tag line (“our business is a better world”) based on solid theoretical foundation and rigorous empirical methods, and to contribute to teaching marketing-related topics at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Successful candidates are expected to publish in high-impact peer reviewed journals and contribute to problem-solving research consistent with the land grant mission of the Dyson School.
Opportunities: Both positions will be in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, one of three schools within the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. The Dyson School houses a top-ranked undergraduate business program as well as graduate programs that award Ph.D., M.S. and M.P.S. degrees. Areas of faculty research include management; environmental, energy and resource economics; food and agricultural economics; and international and development economics. Interdisciplinary collaboration is embraced by faculty members and supported by various programs on campus such as the Institute for Social Sciences, the Institute for Behavioral Economics and Consumer Choice, the Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future, The Center for Food and Beverage Management, the Business of Food Center, among many others. Faculty members in the Dyson School frequently collaborate with colleagues in the Johnson Graduate School of Management, the School of Hotel Administration, Computer and Information Sciences, Economics, Engineering, Natural Resources, the New York City Tech campus, and other units on campus, including the many departments and schools with the nation-leading College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in business, marketing or economics is required. Preference may be given to individuals with demonstrated research competence and teaching expertise. Industry engagement experience is not required but a positive attribute.
Application: Electronically submit via Academic Jobs Online https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/11854 with your letter of application summarizing research, teaching and outreach interests; a curriculum vitae; a current research paper and any other publications; copies of teaching evaluations; and names of three references. SALARY: Competitive with comparable positions in other leading institutions and commensurate with qualifications and experience. An attractive fringe benefit package is included.
Closing Date: Review of applications will begin in January, 2019, and continue until acceptable candidates have been identified and hired.
