PPIC research fellows bring strong quantitative and analytical skills and a driving interest in creating and communicating knowledge that informs California’s policy making processes.

We offer an opportunity for a research fellow with a background and strong interest in Water Policy research, ideally California focused or transferable to the California context. The position is expected to focus on ensuring clean and reliable water supplies, building healthy and resilient ecosystems, or preparing for droughts and floods. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in economics or related field, and outstanding skills in quantitative and qualitative research, non-technical writing, external policy engagement, and communication. We seek applications from recent Ph.D.s to senior-level researchers.

PPIC offers a collaborative, intellectually stimulating, impactful work environment with a competitive compensation and benefits package. The position is based in PPIC’s San Francisco office.

We value the wide variety of backgrounds and experiences of our research staff, and key elements in the consideration of qualified candidates include excellence; diversity of talents, backgrounds, and viewpoints; and a strong fit with the institute’s mission, values, and goals.
