The Department of Health Care Organization and Policy, School of Public Health, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is inviting applications for the newly established Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama Endowed Chair in Health Economics. This is a 12-month, full-time faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor rank, tenured or tenure earning.

Candidates should have a doctoral degree in Economics, Policy, Health Services Research or a related field, and a strong record of scholarly work. The successful candidate will be expected to mount an independent and externally funded research program with primary focus on health economics, health policy, and health services research with emphasis on health challenges pertinent to the population of Alabama; such as access to primary health care, rural health, health insurance coverage, and related topics.

While the primary role of the Endowed Chair will be research, the successful candidate will also be expected to foster interdisciplinary collaborations, teach graduate courses in areas of expertise, and participate in service activities in the School, University and broader community.
