The School of Business invites applications for one full-time tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Economics beginning August 2019. The Economics Program at SUNY Geneseo is housed within the School of Business along with degree programs in accounting and business administration. The economics program is seeking candidates with fields in both Environmental Economics and Data Analytics/Econometrics. The School of Business is working toward developing a more robust emphasis on data analytics within all three degree programs and the successful candidate will support that effort.

Our priority is teaching excellence. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts setting. A commitment to working effectively with students from diverse backgrounds is essential. The successful candidate must have demonstrated excellence in teaching a course or courses related to Data Analytics (Statistical/Machine Learning, Statistics, Quantitative Methods, or Econometrics). The candidate will be expected to teach a Data Analytics course with the use of industry-standard tools of analysis (including R and Python) and the application of data analytics to various business areas to all majors within the School of Business. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach Environmental and/or Resource Economics with a focus on sustainability issues as well as a willingness to teach Introductory and Intermediate Microeconomics or Macroeconomics based on the needs of the program. Other responsibilities include academic advising, maintaining an active research agenda, and service to the School of Business and University.

Applicants are required to have specializations in Environmental/Resource Economics and Data Analytics/Econometrics. Applicants must have a strong record of high-quality teaching, evidence of an active research agenda, strong communication skills, a deep commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education and a willingness to work with faculty from within the School of Business and across the University. Applicants must have demonstrated a commitment and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of the campus and School of Business mission.
