Position Overview:
The JPMorgan Chase Institute seeks a Consumer Research Analyst in its Washington, D.C. office who will bring the best of quantitative social sciences to lead and conduct research on consumer finance topics using propriety big data.

Candidate Qualifications:
•Strong background in statistics/economics/econometrics/public policy/data science, or other related fields;
•Experience working with data sets too large to be reviewed one record at a time or edited by hand (e.g. greater than 100,000 observations) and big data techniques (e.g. machine learning);
•Strong programming experience; preferred languages include (SQL, R, Python, Scala);
•Experience with big data computing on a Hadoop platform (e.g. Spark, Hive) and working with big data collaboration tools (git, Jira) are a plus;
•Ability to work in a high-performance professional environment, with quick turn-around and changing priorities;
•Comfort with uncertainty and an entrepreneurial working context; flexibility to take on new roles and responsibilities as this initiative evolves;
•Creativity, strict observance of compliance and data privacy controls, and a commitment to intellectual rigor;
•Ability to absorb and synthesize large amounts of information and data quickly;
•Bachelor’s required; Master’s candidates welcome
